How are you going to get to heaven?

Most people know one answer to this question. They say, "I'm going to heaven because I'm a good person." This answer is correct. If you are a good person you will go to heaven.

But, based on the standard God will use on judgment day, are you truly a good person?

The truth is revealed in the Bible. For example, Isaiah says that all your righteous deeds (the best you can do) are like filthy rags to God.

Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

The problem is that none of us are good. We all have broken God's laws and we must pay the penalty. "The wages of sin is death." - Romans 6:23

So how does anyone get to heaven? How can you go to heaven?

Here's the Answer: recognize you've broken God's laws, repent* and trust that Jesus Christ has already paid the penalty you owe for breaking God's laws. It's a free gift from God. He paid you penalty so you will live forever.

"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy..." - Titus 3:5

*Repent means to change direction, to turn away from disobeying God, and desire to live your life so as to be obeying God.

That's what this web site is all about. The Gospel message is the "something" that will save your life. The Gospel message is simple: you have disobeyed God; as a result you are under the death penalty; but Jesus has died in your place; turn away from disobeying God (sinning) and trust Jesus to give you eternal life.

If as you read this web site you desire to turn toward God and trust Jesus for your salvation, that means God has already given you His saving grace. You will be in heaven with God for eternity. Nothing can ever take your salvation away from you. Nothing can ever separate you from God. We invite you to tell Him how you feel about that.

You are important to God. He very much wants you to be with Him. Every day... every minute... every second God is giving you a second chance--for the millionth time--to choose Him and trust Jesus. "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9b

But, you may not live another day. You don't know when your time will come, but when it does the second chances end... your decision is final and accepted by God. If you choose Jesus you will live with Him forever--having eternal life. If you choose to turn away from God, that's what you'll have for eternity... eternal separation from God. It's called hell.

The Ten Commandments

1) Have no other Gods before God, creator of the universe. (Do not have anyone or anything that is more important than God.)

 

2) Do not worship anyone or anything other than God, creator of the universe. (In other words do not worship money, cars, women, clothes, fame...)

 

3) Do not use the name of God in vain. (As a cuss word or to express surprise, for example.)

 

4) Keep the Sabbath day holy.

 

5) Honor your father and mother.

 

6) Do not murder. (Jesus said that if we get angry at someone, or call someone a "fool" that is also murder. Matthew 5:22)

 

7) Do not commit adultery. (Jesus said that in addition to the physical act, looking at another person, who is not your spouse, with lust is adultery. Matthew 5:28)

 

8) Do not steal. (You don't have to rob a bank to be a thief. Even taking something small, that does not belong to you, is stealing.)

 

9) Do not give false testimony (lie).

 

10) Do not covet your neighbor's property.
